Tom Clancy's Without Remorse, or simply Without Remorse, is an upcoming American action thriller film starring Michael B. Jordan directed by Stefano Sollima and written by Taylor Sheridan and Will Staples. It is based on the 1993 novel of the same name by Tom Clancy and a spin-off of the Jack Ryan film series.
The film tells the origin story of John Kelly (aka John Clark), a U.S. Navy SEAL, who uncovers an international conspiracy while seeking justice for the murder of his pregnant wife by Russian soldiers. When Kelly joins forces with fellow SEAL Karen Greer and shadowy CIA agent Robert Ritter, the mission unwittingly exposes a covert plot that threatens to engulf the U.S. and Russia in an all-out war.

I don't understand the casting. Admiral Greer and Robby Jackson (both black) were some of the most intelligent and competent characters in the Jack Ryan series, but turning the often loose cannon Irish guy black is more woke somehow.

Amazon, do not call this "Tom Clancy's Without Remorse". This has absolutely *NOTHING* to do with Tom Clancy's magnum opus. This is cashing in on his name brand. It is shameful. For all I know this could be a fine action movie on it's own, but to call this an "adaption" would be nothing short of a lie.

If your only counting the "Tom Clancy" books actually written by Tom Clancy: Red Storm Rising, Cardinal of the Kremlin, Debt of Honor, Executive Orders, Bear and the Dragon, Red Rabbit, Teeth of the Tiger, Dead of Alive, Against All Enemies, Locked On, Threat Vector, and Command Authority". Looks good except as usual hollywood has no prob replacing white characters with black actors. People would go nuts if a black panther reboot was made staring tom cruise or something. I never read the book series by tom clancy but a simple google search says he's white, not that hard to get correct hollywood but whatever.

What a shame Amazon didn't capitalize on the opportunity to have continuity between this and the John Krasinski Jack Ryan series. I'm fine with aracial and cross-gender casting of the characters with respect to the original Tom Clancy characters, but at least have some consistency within your own productions. Also most of what 'Jack' experiences and does in season 2 of Amazon's Jack Ryan is actually based on Tom Clancy's John Kelly aka John Clark character and the events in Clear and Present Danger. Mr. Clancy wrote a perfectly good book series that would have been better served had the Amazon productions stayed truer to the source material. Instead, they've dumbed down the content to cliche action movie tropes and reduced the technical and political attention to detail that made Clancy's books so immersive and successful. Had to quit Jack Ryan during season two and looks like I'm going to have to pass on Without Remorse, too. Do yourself a favor - go read Clear and Present Danger and Without Remorse. These are some of Clancy's best works imo
